He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39
I desire to become a man of character and competence. Daniel was a man of character and competence. And so was Christ. Where did they get competence? In the secret place?
“The fear (reverence, worship and honour) of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” - Proverbs 1:7
Without deep reverence for the LORD, I cannot know more than the wisemen of Babylon. So how do I compete? How do I stand out?
“...to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; in Christ are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” - Colossians 2:2-3
Whatever I am putting before the LORD, I have by my own hand misplaced. Even without the enemy in the equation. My foolishness have perverted my way. “The foolishness of man perverteth his way: And his heart fretteth against the LORD.” - Proverbs 19:3
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way.” - Psalm 37:23 May the LORD order my steps, even as I continue to honour Him. “Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” - Psalm 37:4
